The hard part of a retrofit is not the structure — it is replacing it while boats stay in the water. Here is how staged replacement works.
Many operating marinas cannot accept downtime. The engineer has to work with old and new side by side: existing floats keep carrying load while new modules are inserted section by section, and the connection detail must suit both systems.
Our approach splits the work into three phases: add temporary berthing on the outside first, then replace the main walkway in sections, and finally re-route power, water and fire services. Load paths are calculated for each phase so no temporary weak point is left behind.
Staging adds roughly 15% to component cost, but it buys zero downtime. For a marina charging by berth, that usually pays for itself.
